InsurTech Pitch2Market: 10 Startups boosting Insurance

Last week the Insurance World Challenges 2017 was held in Madrid. In this 2-day event organised by the Community of Insurance association, 10 startups presented their pitch to more than 300 professionals of the insurance sector.


The objective: share, explore and discuss about the trends and the new challenges for the Insurance industry.


In case you missed the event, here it is a summary of the startups and their value proposition for insurance companies:

1. inithealth

Inithealth platform provides tools for users to personally manage fundamental aspects of their health as well as fostering healthy living habits. Inithealth could be integrated into any mobile app and wearable devices to extend its features to third-party developments, allowing brands to build wellness apps for final customers.

2. Shift Technology

Shift Technology provides insurance companies with a SaaS solution to improve and scale fraud detection. Its AI algorithms are tailored to reproduce fraud handlers’​ deductive reasoning, making investigations quicker and easier than ever.

3. Wenalyze

Wenalyze is a sophisticated analytical tool for insurance customers. It’s based on the users information gathered from Twitter, Instagram and Facebook in real time. Wenalyze classifies, orders and analyzes this information in order to send identified prospected customers. The information is handled according to quality parameters of the accounts detected, managing risk factors and susceptibility to purchase.

4. Blink

Blink is a real-time flight cancellation insurance company. If the flight is cancelled, they automatically provide customers with a range of flight alternatives for them to choose from at no extra cost.

5. Signaturit

Signaturit provides an easy and secure way to sign documents from any mobile device, with legal validity and without installing additional applications. They simplify and improve business relationships within third parties as customers, suppliers, delegations and other international locations.

6. Heygo

Heygo is a collaborative economy app where you can find individuals, professionals or freelancers close to you relying on geolocation technologies. The services are currently secured and covered by insurance companies.

7. Ubiquos (Gistek Insurance Solutions)

Ubiquos is a telepresence system for non face-to-face claim examination. It allows making remote expert’s reports without the need for a travel, decreasing waiting times, reducing costs and preventing fraud.

8. Hey Mondo

Hey Mondo is an insurance broker for travel. With a wide range of customization possibilities, users of Hey Mondo only need to answer 5 questions to generate a personalized policies in less than 15 seconds. Despite the automated recommendation, users can adapt the insurer offer to improve the price based on their needs: Trips per year, people covered, total amounts covered, cancelation costs…

9. Mediktor

Mediktor develops mobile health solutions based on artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. A preliminary diagnosis is performed relying on the interpretation of the user’s natural language and simulates the logical process conducted by a clinician. Once pre-diagnosed, Mediktor offers the user a comprehensive list of the best specialists available according to the pre-diagnosed disease, geolocation of the user or the clinician’s ratings and evaluation by users.

10. ForceManager

ForceManager is a sales accelerator platform for field sales teams. ForceManager CRM is aimed to take sales people the weight and time of reporting with a bunch of geolocation and voice-recognition features, giving teams more time to focus on selling.
